Summary:
Traditional hydrological models struggled to predict water inflows accurately amid climate volatility, limiting dam safety, power optimization, and regulatory compliance for a large hydroelectric utility. In collaboration with academic and domain partners, S3Connections developed AI-based inflow forecasting models integrated into the existing operational framework. By capturing complex non-linear climate and terrain patterns, the solution significantly improved short- and medium-term forecast accuracy, enabled safer spillway operations, optimized power generation, and strengthened climate resilience across multiple watersheds.
